Francesca Grace (18)

Untitled

Is existing enough
Is the pain merely an escape mechanism for the happiness I will not accept as my own
Undeserving
Or better
Not deserving of yet

What must be done?

In this false prophecy lingering at ocean’s core
Sunken through coral and lilac sand

Perhaps it is this lurking darkness that I don’t own
But rather the aching impalpability of reality
Am I awake
Or is this a dream
Or am I awakening into my deepest dreaming sleep
Laughter echoes through my vacant body
For what is there to say in the waking hours of day
When death lurks in my hair
Waltzing off ships
Dressed like saints
Whispering ancient prayers blown like dust through the lace of my veil
The devil was heaven’s greatest angel
That fell from the top
There is no diversity because we’re burning in the melting pot
Fingers snap
And over again we begin
Barrels of smoke
From mountain peaks
To earth’s destruction
We must be going left
If right is wrong
Perhaps,
In the reality of the moon
This world is but
A laugh in the echo of stars
And may my pain disappear back to the heaviness of these clouds
And the sky can set again in rainbows
Over this plundering city...

Francesca Grace is an 18-year-old woman who is currently living in Croatia, playing professional soccer and working with children in her local area. After finishing high school she just wanted to go, explore, experience everything she can, and help as many people as possible. Sometimes something very dark and strange takes over her essence and she’s not quite sure how to go about it.
