i missed you
(like a dog might miss)
to clamp a bone between the teeth, to feel
the lick of yes, now coming down
the road to meet them once again:
instead of “lover’s song,” and sigh
to bite at bone, to snap at tongues
how pupils roll, in mouthing whine
this joy that they derive from bones—
perhaps in future, one pretends
(to crave for bone or make amends)
perhaps might wish, to love a friend,
(forgive my fear of dogs and men.)
