Hypothesis: Given: change=growth, change=bad
<<solve by substitution >>
growth=bad
A compilation of observations:
- a girl (stringy hair, dull eyes—slouched)
that keeps her whole world
an arm’s reach away and
a faint sound—a sigh of relief,
anxious release,
that she exhales from apprehensive lungs
when she finally manages to fit
all of her valuable thoughts and her heart
in the safe-keepings of her own hands.
+
- pillows and blankets wrapped in the comfort
of the familiarity that resides in routine.
wrapped and thus trapped is the girl inside.
+
- weeds that grow as the walls of her world decay
and cave in. note: subject states that her room feels
a bit stuffy when she lies awake at night.
=
- a girl (slimy hair, cramping hands—crippled
underneath the landslide of a lifetime’s collection of
people’s personal pamphlets promising pure intentions
only to find they had been signed with forged signatures
and sealed with the revelation that
her world had been built on faulty foundations
- irregular breathing pattern: inhale, exhale, exhale, exhale!
- Hypothesis:
filters falter and clog blood streams when not properly maintained.
leads to cease of individuality and courage.
leads to cobweb lungs exhausting after 14 years of
recycling stale air and aimless conversations.
Solution ? : Photosynthesize
- let the brightness of the sun
overcome the darkness of the world.
breathe in all the good things it has to offer.
Succeeding observations:
- notice the way each cell expands
in joyous saturation. smile yourself as you watch
weeds decay and walls retract and expand into limitless horizons.
- nurture the wild nature of young minds.
embrace developing taste buds,
try on different opinions for size.
- a girl (vibrant smile, glowing eyes—exploring
the newfound vastness of her world
through a kaleidoscope.
her mind full of unrelenting curiosity
and her heart overflowing with gratitude for being given the opportunity
to know a world greater than her own.
Conclusion: Given: change=growth, change=good? good. good.
<<solve by substitution>>
growth=good
hypothesis proved//disproved.
