Julianne Hines (14)
Quiet Winter
the birds have left
us to a warmer climate,
the insects no longer bite at your skin;
it seems as if the world is
resting for the springtime.
when I woke to a blanket
of snow, I thought about how
it is the thing that mother nature
uses to tuck in the animals.
sunlight dazzles on fresh fallen snow
i open the door and
feel the ice melt on my skin.
Julianne has no history with publication, so this is her first time seeing her work in a literary journal. She loves writing and has been writing stories ever since she was little. She lives in the United States. She is 14 years old at the moment and loves nature (especially the woods).
